SSL certificate update 2

20 September 2016 11:57:43 +0000

The SSL certificate has been replaced on all servers. If you still get errors, please restart the program in question or, if necessary, restart the machine or device.

If you need any assistance, please contact NinerNet support. Thank-you.

SSL certificate update 1

20 September 2016 10:19:12 +0000

The SSL certificate was upgraded on server NC027 at 10:09 UTC. This covers email services. We’ll be replacing the expired certificates on other server and control panels shortly too.

You may need to restart email programs and web browsers for the new certificate to be recognised. Again, we apologise for the inconvenience.

NinerNet SSL certificate

20 September 2016 09:05:00 +0000

Our wildcard SSL certificate for *.niner.net has expired in some time zones. It will be updated within the hour and an update posted here.

Our apologies for the delay.

SSL/TLS certificate renewed

21 August 2015 12:05:08 +0000

The *.niner.net wildcard SSL/TLS certificate has been renewed and has been installed for all services on all servers, except NC026 as it will be shut down any day now.

If you receive any SSL/TLS warnings, please try restarting the application (program) in question — e.g., web browser or email client. If that doesn’t work, try rebooting. If you’re still running into issues, please contact NinerNet support with the exact text of any error messages.

Thank-you.

NinerNet SSL certificate fully installed

21 July 2014 12:10:11 +0000

We have solved the issue with the new NinerNet SSL certificate not fully propagating to all servers. All SSL web and email connections should now be using the new SSL certificate, which expires in 2015.

If you are having any issues, please restart your computer to ensure that all software on the computer uses the new SSL certificate. If you still have problems, please contact NinerNet support with a full description of the error message you are seeing.

Thank-you for your patience.

NinerNet SSL certificate

21 July 2014 07:41:35 +0000

We are aware that the new NinerNet SSL certificate has not properly propagated to all servers. We are working to fix this and will post an update here as soon as we believe the issue has been resolved.

In the meantime it is usually possible to override any warnings and continue with whatever you are doing.

SSL certificate issue resolved

21 April 2011 06:06:25 +0000

We have tracked down the problem with the new SSL certificate on server NC018 and fixed it. We have also tested on Windows, Mac, Linux and iOS (iPhone) computers using Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Chrome and Konqueror, and all work as expected. We have also used a testing tool made available by the issuer of the SSL certificate, and the SSL certificate installation passed all tests.

If you have experienced problems loading SSL pages on a niner.net sub-domain — e.g., the control panel (cp.niner.net), the webmail (webmail.niner.net), etc. — please close and restart your web browser to clear this issue on your computer. If you continue to experience the problem, please try rebooting your computer. If you still experience the issue, please contact NinerNet support, and tell us what operating system you are using (e.g., Windows XP/Vista/7, Mac, Linux, etc.), what browser you are using (e.g., Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc.) and the version number of your browser. Please also include the exact text of any error messages you are seeing.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

Problem with new SSL certificate on server NC018

21 April 2011 01:00:06 +0000

Early yesterday we installed a new wildcard SSL certificate on server NC018. In the testing we did everything worked fine. However, we’ve had reports today that Mac users are getting an SSL warning from both Firefox and Safari, and some Firefox users on Windows are also getting the same warning.

This affects sub-domains of the niner.net domain — e.g., the control panel (cp.niner.net), the webmail (webmail.niner.net) and a few other sub-domains.

We are looking into this and will post an update here when the problem is fixed. In the meantime, it is safe to ignore the dire warning by following the instructions you will see in your browser.
