You may have received an automated email from our web server informing you that updates are ready to be installed for Word-press. Normally we take care of these updates well within 24 hours (before another reminder goes out); however, this time, some clients are required to upgrade their version of PHP in order to install the Word-press update to version 7. The control panel does not give us the option of mass-upgrading PHP versions, so if you are using an older version of PHP then you have to log into the control panel to update your PHP version to 7.4 or higher, after which you can update Word-press.
In order to upgrade PHP for your server, please follow these instructions:
- Log into your control panel at https://web.niner.net:10000/
- If you have more than one website, select a domain from the drop-down list.
- When the page reloads, select Web Configuration -> PHP Options.
- On the right, in the main part of the page, select the latest (highest number) version of PHP to the right of “Default HTML directory”.
- Click the yellow (formerly green) Save button near the bottom of the page.
- The server will go through the process of making changes to the server for a few seconds.
Now you’re ready to update Word-press. Please go ahead and do so.
