The relay server is back online, and the source of the spam has been blocked until that client has re-secured their mail server. Thanks for your patience.
The relay server is offline for a few minutes while we clean up some spam that has been submitted through it. We’ll post an update here when it’s back online.
For a couple of hours early in the morning (Pacific time) today, server NC020 was inaccessible from Vancouver. (This also applied to some of our clients with virtual private servers in the same data centre.) Through monitoring tools and other techniques we were able to determine that the server was indeed up and fully operational, so we can only conclude that there must have been some connectivity issue in the Vancouver area that affected all or most ISPs.
Server NC020 was down within the last couple of hours and was rebooted as a result. We’re investigating both the duration and cause right now, and will post further updates here.
We have rebooted server NC020 and everything is fine now. We suspect one of the websites hosted on this server received a lot of traffic within the last hour or so — more than the server could handle. We’re still looking at all of the logs and will determine whether or not that was the case and post more here when we have all of the information.
Server NC020 is overloaded and responding very slowly. We have our suspicions as to why, and are looking into the issue. We will post updates here.
We’ve taken a thorough look at everything and are confident that there are no issues on the server itself. Router graphs show that the server has sustained somewhat higher than normal traffic over the last few hours, and this may have been the issue, but everything is operating smoothly at this point and has been for a while now.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact NinerNet support. Thank-you.
We’re investigating a performance issue on server NC018. The server was rebooted at 06:00 UTC, and this seems to have improved the situation, but we’re still looking for a cause and will post more information here shortly.
We have tracked down the problem with the new SSL certificate on server NC018 and fixed it. We have also tested on Windows, Mac, Linux and iOS (iPhone) computers using Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Chrome and Konqueror, and all work as expected. We have also used a testing tool made available by the issuer of the SSL certificate, and the SSL certificate installation passed all tests.
If you have experienced problems loading SSL pages on a niner.net sub-domain — e.g., the control panel (cp.niner.net), the webmail (webmail.niner.net), etc. — please close and restart your web browser to clear this issue on your computer. If you continue to experience the problem, please try rebooting your computer. If you still experience the issue, please contact NinerNet support, and tell us what operating system you are using (e.g., Windows XP/Vista/7, Mac, Linux, etc.), what browser you are using (e.g., Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc.) and the version number of your browser. Please also include the exact text of any error messages you are seeing.
We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
